Shankar Rao, Cong `use & throw’ victim: YSR Cong

The most astonishing things happen in politics. As a great man said that there are no permanent friends and no permanent enemies in politics. The latest news on Saturday is that the axing of the former Congress minister Dr P Shankar Rao, a dalit leader was attributed to the `use and throw’ policy of the state Congress party, by none other than the YSR Congress party.  The irony of the situation was that the victimized minister was earlier termed as the `MLA who was in hurry to get the YSR Cong chief behind bars.’

`He was given the ministerial berth to return the favor for filing cases against YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and once the purpose was served, they dropped him like a hot potato’, said party spokesperson Vasireddy Padma. Adding, `The Congress encouraged him all the time when he was filing cases against our leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and when Dr Shankar Rao used the same methodology against his own party persons and cabinet colleagues, he became a thorn in the flesh and was thus dropped.’

But finally cleared to more safe grounds, by adding, `We need not react to the internal issues of the Congress Party, but as a dalit leader was axed from the cabinet and not in a reshuffle, it merits a mention.’

Former State Minister for Handlooms Dr Shankar Rao often expressed displeasure over delay in filing an FIR against Kadapa MP and YSR Congress party Chief Mr Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy and Emaar properties. (With inputs from internet-AarKay)
