When video and photo journalists were allowed to cover the 10-day Karnataka assembly proceedings, the Vidhan Soudha Secretariat could not have imagined that the decision would expose the 3 sex-starved ministers browsing sleaze on mobile screens leading to losing their jobs and defaming the BJP Government.
The video journalists were banned from covering the proceedings from the margins and allies of the house just for security reasons and asked to record from the visitors’ gallery on the first floor of the Vidhan Soudha.
The visitors’ gallery provided an excellent view for video journalists for recording the proceedings. During the course of the recording, some cameramen casually observed that ministers Laxman Savadi and CC Patil glued to a mobile handset repeatedly and ignoring the proceedings of the house.
Enthused to find out what they were doing, the journalists had zoomed their cameras on them and found both Laxman Savadi and CC Patil surfing pornographic content. For confirmation that they were browsing sleaze, they zoomed again and again and then decided to telecast the same.
That is how the ministers lost their jobs and their image too. As the hand set belonged to their colleague J Krishna Palemar, ultimately he also lost his job. (JUBS)
