Bollywood Big B Amitabh Bachchan today successfully underwent surgery for abdominal problems at the Seven Hills hospital in suburban Andheri at Mumbai.

Soon after the surgery, son Abhishek Bachchan tweeted saying everything was fine with his father and thanked all the fans for their wishes and prayers.

Amitabh, 69, suffered a near fatal blow to his intestines in 1982 during the sets of his hit film ‘Coolie’ and has since developed a history of stomach ailments.

Even as millions of fans expressed anxiety over the operation, doctors at the hospital also said the actor was recovering. “The actor’s condition was stable,” a doctor at the hospital said refusing go into details.

Amitabh Bachchan, in one of his blogs, said the medical problems has emanated from the ‘Coolie’ accident. (JUBS)
