Kiran expresses helplessness on T state

CM Kirankumar reddy today told the TRS bluntly that the Telangana issue in not in his purview and refused to introduce a resolution in the state assembly on carving out separate state of Telangana.

Speaking in the Business Advisory Committee meeting in the assembly after the Governor ESL Narasimhan has inaugurated the joint session of the assembly and the council, Kirankumar expressed helplessness on the issue.

“The ball is the Centre’s court and I can’t do anything in the matter,” he responded in the meeting when TRS members wanted him to get a resolution passed in favour of Telangana in the assembly and then send it to the Centre.

“Assembly passed resolutions during the TDP and YSR regimes twice on classification of SCs even though it was not in the jurisdiction of the state government. How was it possible?” TRS members questioned the CM on the issue.

Expressing his inability to answer the query, Kirankumar asked them to raise the Telangana issue during discussion on reply to the Governor’s address.

CPI and BJP members also supported the demand of the TRS members for a resolution on the Telangana issue. (JUBS)
