Hyderabad CID police today arrested one Mr Anjaneyulu Gupta, a close aide of extortionist Bhanu Kiran, the alleged assassin of faction leader Maddelacheruvu Suri.

CID officials said they have arrested Anjaneyulu in a land grabbing case after a Miyapur-based businessman lodged complaint with them. “We received a complaint that, with the help of Bhanu Kiran, Gupta forcibly got registered a land worth Rs.7 Cr in his name,” said the officials.

It might be recalled that Bhanu Kiran has been on the run after he allegedly killed Suri and the police have yet to nab him in the Suri murder case. (JUBS)
