Old building collapses in Secunderabad, 2 killed, more feared trapped

An old two-storied building near the busy and congested Monda Market at Secunderabad collapsed today during renovation.

Rescue teams have so far taken out two dead bodies from the debris of the collapsed building and police suspect more people, most of them footpath businessmen adjacent to the building and renovation workers, might have been trapped under the debris.

The building, housing the Punjabi Bar and Restaurant, is undergoing repairs and the Restaurant has been closed for the last few days due to renovation.

The collapse has destroyed four nearby shops resulting in some property loss, according to reports. The incident has resulted in a heavy traffic jam in the area. (JUBS)
