Chief Minister Kirankumar Reddy gave an earful to the Nellore rural congress MLA Anam Vivekananda Reddy when he found the latter smoking near his chamber in the assembly today.
“Why do you smoke here? Don’t you know you shouldn’t smoke here? Please stop smoking in the assembly premises,” Kirankumar was found telling him.
The CM said it was not good for MLAs to smoke in public places like the assembly. “MLAs should be models for others by following the law,” Kirankumar told him. Soon after, Anam threw off his cigarette butt immediately.
Earlier, Anam told journalists that his brother and minister Anam Ramnarayana Reddy needn’t necessarily contest the Nellore Lok Sabha by poll. Reacting to the YSR Congress party challenge to his brother to contest the seat, Vivekananda Reddy said he is ready to contest against Mekapati Rajamohan reddy in the by election.
“I am ready to take on Rajamohan reddy. The other two MLAs are also ready to take on him” Anam said.
By polls are due to the Nellore Lok Sabha seat as the resignation of MP Mekapati Rajamohan reddy was accepted the Lok Sabha Speaker. (J)
