YSR Congress party president Jaganmohan Reddy has said that his mother YS Vijayamma would take the lead role in election campaign in case CBI arrests him. He asked the party members not to get panic. Jagana, who spoke to the media on Thursday evening, has said that the root decision on his proposed arrest was taken in Delhi itself.
Meanwhile, many eminent journalists in the state and also other political analysts said the law would take its course of action and there was no need for any speculations. Even many people were heard discussing as to why Jaganmohan Reddy was speaking of arrest.
A vernacular news channel in AP, other hand, reported that Jagan got tensed of his arrest when the CBI court-which is probing Jagan’s disproportionate case-questioned (on Thursday when Jagan’s counsels moved anticipatory bail plea) the CBI as to why the accused number one (Jagan) was not arrested. It may be noted that the court turned down the anticipatory bail plea and held the CBI has right to call for interrogations once the probe is started.
Notably, Jaganmohan Reddy will appear before the Central Bureau of Investigation sleuths as CBI served notices on him to attend the interrogation today.
Tight security beefed up:
With TDP crying foul that gangs of Jagan are moving in Hyderabad for allegedly creating ruckus in the city in case Jagan gets arrested by the CBI, the city police beefed up tight security in and around Hydeabad to avoid any untoward incidents in the city. The Governor ESL Narasimhan on Thursday held talks with the new city commissioner over the security arrangements in the state.
All in all, while there were just speculations so far on Jagan’s arrest, the YSRCP chief himself stating that he would be arrested is apparently putting many people in a shock. He even alleged that the state and centre were purportedly resorting to these activities only for stopping the by-polls to 18 assembly constituencies.
No obstacles to by-polls: CM
The chief minister Kirankumar Reddy has reiterated that there would be no obstacles to by-polls. He made these statements in the wake of Jagan’s statements. CM has also made serious remarks on Jagan stating that the latter had gone nuts.
The situation in AP has now become a national topic due to serious controversial allegations that Jagan is making on the Centre, the State and the CBI. (Phani)
