The High Court today quashed the private legal petition filed by one Mr O M Dubera against the legal aid to the Ministers. The petition was against giving the legal aid to the Ministers who had received notices from Supreme Court in the controversial 26 GOs case. Early today the apex court stated that since the Supreme Court issued the notices, it could not take up the matter.
The ministers who were alleged to be involved in the 26 controversial GOs were issued notices from the Supreme Court. They urged the state government to provide them legal support and the government obliged. Many in the oppositions objected the move and said that the government was protecting the ministers.
Earlier many senior leaders of the party also expressed their anguish and reluctance over the issue. Senior Congress M.P Rayapati Sambasiva Rao had also taken exception to Andhra Pradesh government's decision to provide free legal aid to five tainted A.P Ministers to whom the Supreme Court issued notices in the controversial 26 G.O's case. he had also written a letter to the party supremo Ms Sonia Gandhi in this regards.
