In spite of a gloomy Telangana issue the state capital seems to be happy to welcome the international dignitaries from 194 global destinations for the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) (October 01-19). nearly 10,000 are expected to partcipate in this three week carnival, which concludes with a Convention on Biological Diversity (COP 11) hosted by our Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh.
And the scenario early today was, walk into any hotel above the three star status and the answer is 'No Room.' This should be great time for this industry to thrive as for sometime most members of the industry were sulking over occupancy issues.
On the other hands noteworthy cabs and most international flights are booked these days. GHMC that oversees the development of the city had been going all out in decorating the city befitting the welcome for global dignitaries. CBD event is held at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC) and will be inaugurated by Environment Minister Jayanthi Natarajan.
This event is sure to benefit the local establishments in general while benefiting the national exchequer too. (With inputs from internet-AW AarKay)
