The south central railways said that identity card would be made mandatory for all reservation ticket travellers from December 1. So, those who are travelling on reservations tickets without any of the 10 mentioned photo identity card would be termed as those travelling without tickets and a fine would be imposed.
It has to be mentioned here that Kotla Jayasurya Prakash Reddy, after he became the union minister of state for railways, made identity cards mandatory to all reservation tickets. Earlier, such identity cards used to be necessary only to those who booked tickets online. Hereafter even those who get their tickets from the counter would be required to carry photo identity card. Speaking on the same, the central minister has said that they were implementing this identity card rule in order to eliminate the role of brokers.
