Today being last Monday of Kartheeka Masam, temples dedicated to Lord Shiva are filled with devotees. A large number of people were flocking to temple this morning for offering prayers and performing abhishekams to Shiva lingams. It has been believed that by performing abhishekams today, Lord Shiva will be pleased with devotees and offers boons.

In Srisailam, special pujas are being conducted. Women are lighting Kartheeka deepams (lamps), which has been considered auspicious. For Sarvadarshanam of Lord Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy and Brahmarambhika Mata, it's taking eight hours and for special darshan it's taking four hours.
