An explosion took place at fireworks warehouse at Satthapatti of Salem in Tamil Nadu. At least five persons were reportedly killed in the accident. The owner of the fireworks Shanti was said to have killed in the mishap. Notably, Shanti's husband too died in a similar mishap a decade ago. The sources said that as many as 40 persons were present at the venue. The reasons behind the accident are yet to be ascertained. Nearly 14 persons were said to have grievously  injured and they were shifted to the nearby hospital. The district collector and local MLA reportedly reached the spot. The casualties are likely to increase.
