A heavy traffic jam was reported on Hyderabad-Vijayawada national highway. Traffic was jammed for over a kilometre. The jam reportedly at toll plaza. Our sources said that it people working at toll plazas were taking their own sweet time in giving toll tokens and that was the main reason for such heavy jam. A few people telephoned Andhra Wishesh office and complained that they were waiting for more than 30 minutes on highway in hot sun, which was so irking.

Since it's Sankranti season, it's obvious that a large number of people shuttle to different parts of the state from Hyderabad. And Hyderabad-Vijayawada national highway will top in terms of traffic during this season. Even after officials knowing the same, they reportedly didn't take sufficient steps to ensure that traffic moves smoothly at toll plazas. These might be petty mistakes but a small mistake or a small irritation is enough for a voter to make a decision for the elections, which are not round the corner.
