Wishesh wishes all of you a 'Happy Sankranti'. Cock betting goes unhindered in the Godavari districts for the second consecutive day. Many elite politicians have patronized this annual punting event. While there are none complaining against the issue which is more of a prestigious event in these parts, security officials seem to have also turned a blind eye in this regards, all is fine that ends fins is the order of such events. Once something springs them then the official would start the blaming game.

As of now the cockfight betting seems to be going on well and continued today since early hours. However the actual big scale punters are expected to get into the event by the afternoon after finishing the celebrations at home. The major venues for the betting include Tetali, Peravali, Duvva, Undrajavaram, Khandavalli, Mortha and Annavarappadu in the west.

The bouts are a part of the festival celebrations especially for the Royal community of the state. Huge betting are done that mostly run into crores.  The punters include politicians and rich elite.
