Traffic on Banjara Hills Road no 2 was disrupted due to heavy fire in the Annapurna Studios. The fire that occurred just minutes ago raised high and two fire engines are pressed into use to douse the flames. Fierce fire fighting is done by the fire personnel. The reasons of the accident are yet to be ascertained.
As per initial estimates nearly Rs 40 lakhs worth property seems to have been razed to ashes. A short circuit in the floor could have resulted in the fire in which a massive set erected for a TV show was totally damaged. However no loss of life was reported being festive holidays.
Annapurna Studios founded by the veteran of Tollywood Akkineni Nageswara Rao, is known for its state-of-art facilities in production including sound stages, outdoor sets, editing and sound recording theaters. Apart from facilities, they also produce films. The Akkineni family has three generation of actors after the founder the next set of actors included Nagarjuna, Sumanth, Naga Chaitanya and Sushanth.
