The chief secretary of Andhra Pradesh Government, the Director General of Police and Intelligence Chief of the state have today left for Delhi on the call from the union home ministry. They attended a meeting convened by the union home secretary, which lasted for quite sometime. Since date to declare the decision on Telangana is round the corner, this meeting of high level officials with the union home secretary has gained significance.
The high-level meeting concluded at around 5.30 pm. The officials, who came out of the meeting, have reportedly told the media that there was no discussion on Telangana issue. They, however, apparently denied to speak on what subject they discussed. Was the discussion being made on the alleged hate speech that received criticism from the entire country? Whatever it might be, analysts presumably look at this meeting as a significant move by the government as a part of the decision that it's going to take on Telangana issue.
