There's some good news to all those who have been forced to stay away from television due to non transmission of cable television in Hyderabad. In a recent petition moved seeking time over digitization of cable television, Andhra Pradesh High Court has today directed the concerned authorities not to interrupt the services of cable television for another two days.
It has to be mentioned here that cable television transmission is already down in Hyderabad and Vishakapatnam as a part of phase 2 of digitization. In fact, phase 1 digitization got effective in Mumbai and Delhi since October 31, 2012. After these two cities went digitization, the government has been educating through television ads to go with 'set top box' failing which one cannot watch satellite channels on television. As a part of the same phase, analog cable transmission was cut off in as many as 38 cities since April 1, 2013.
The following are the cities where people, having normal cable television connections, are unable to view channels on their TV sets.
