Left parties have called for a state wide bandh tomorrow to mark a protest against the increased surcharges of electricity. They have, however, exempted educational institutes. But then the bandh is likely to effect the normal life in the city in case it becomes successful. Reacting on the same minister Danam Nagender has asked Left parties to withdraw their bandh as government took the decision to ensure that working class doesn't face the burden.
In case of non withdrawal of bandh, Danam said, Left parties would draw bad name. He has also said that this bandh was called upon only for political interests. Left parties are yet to make a comment on this. It has to be mentioned here that a few months back Left parties gave a state wide bandh over petrol prices and bandh then was almost successful as many RTC buses were locked up in the depots then.
Say no to bandhs: People
Andhra Wishesh enquired many people especially the middle class and economically poor people as to what they feel about bandhs. Everyone came out with the reply that bandhs never solved their problems but only made them feel inconvenient. Road side chai baddi walas and mirchi bajji sellers too will be forced to starve the entire day whenever bandhs take place. Is it some sort of a joke that everyone call for bandhs without the consent of the public? Who are they (politicians or whosoever) to ask us to sit in homes and starve, questioned the people who earn their daily bread and butter by selling country snacks.
The opposition parties and other organizations should realize that bandhs are something that would put common people in so much trouble. One can never rewind a lost day!
