Famous Music Director and singer J.V.Raghavulu who had been ailing for some time breathed his last at his residence in Mangalavarapupeta, Rajahmundry.
He composed music for a total of 172 films. J.V.Raghavulu who hailed from Ramachandrapuram in East Godavari District worked as an assistant to Ghantasala. He started singing background songs from the movie Pelli Sandadi in 1950 in which he sang for Chalam. His first film to work as a music director was "Drohi" in 1970 in which Jaggayya played main role. His last song for the films was for Andala Ramudu in 1973 and last film to give music was Brahmachari Mogudu in 1994.
JV Raghavulu worked under Ghantasala for so long and worked so hard that Ghantasala treated him as his son. His songs still remembered are, "Ee Jeevana Tharangalalo…."In Jevana Tharangalu, "Janani Janma Bhoomischa…"in Bobbili Puli and many more.
JV Raghavulu had four sons and one daughter. The prominent personalities of the film industry expressed their shock to the news of JV Raghavulu's death and sent condolences to the family members of JV Raghavulu. Many of them are going to Rajahmundry to see him for the last time.
