The investigations carried out at the Bodh Gaya shrine by National Investigation Agency for the serial blasts in the Mahabodhi temple on Sunday in the morning hours.  

A person was arrested by the investigating agency based on the clues collected from the place of incidence.  The person detained by them is Vinod Mistri, resident of Barachetti in Gaya and a carpenter by profession.  

As per the Director General of Police Abhayanand, Vinod Mistri’s photo identity card was found by them in the temple in a bag left there in which the robes of monks and a piece of paper with some telephone numbers were also found.   The telephone numbers written on the paper belong to Delhi to which Vinod talked on Sunday just hours before the blasts took place.   As Vinod is not a monk, he had no necessity to carry a monk’s robes to the temple.  

Another bomb exploded on Monday at a distance from the temple that made the number of blasts 10 in total as 9 exploded on Sunday in the morning hours.  3 were found unexploded which were defused.  

Abhayanand says that gas cylinders were used to blast the bombs.  The locations of the bombs to be planted were found written and pasted on the defused cylinders.  One of it shows Bus- which means it was intended to explode in a bus.  Another one was indicating Tergar Front which is a monastery in the temple.  Third one was indicating Bada Buddha.  A statement of taking revenge was found written in Urdu indicating Jihad.  

The bombs were weighing 4.5 kgs each with small cylinders packed with Ammonium nitrate, sulphur and potassium set to blast with the help of an analogue.  The bombs couldn’t have been planted without help of an insider.  The investigating agency is investigating in that angle also.  

The samples collected from the place of incident were sent to forensic department for examination.  The police are going through 48 hours of footage recovered from the 16 CC cameras installed there.  Nothing valuable is found so far from the footage.
