Kiran Kumar Reddy not keen to lead broken Andhra

Andhra Pradesh CM Kiran Kumar Reddy is not very keen on leading a state that is not united. The Chief Minister is a staunch supporter of a samaikhyandhra and has said that he may resign if the Center takes any decision in favor of splitting the state.

If the Congress core committee decides to grant Telangana state, he may just quit. Though he expressed his hesitation at leading a state that may divide, he stated that he would follow any decision by the high command. This may have been said with an assurance that a separate Telangana would not be created. Kiran Kumar Reddy is originally from Chittoor, which is in the Seemandhra region. A political career would look grim if he cannot lead a united Andhra.

However, those close to him have denied any such plans and said that the CM would try to convince Congress as much as possible to keep the state intact. United or broken, they say Kiran Kumar Reddy would not try blackmailing as a strategy to achieve his goals.
