Wall collapse in Secunderabad kills 6

Another mishap of wall collapse happened at midnight before the City Lite Hotel incident is forgotten. A compound wall in MJ Colony of Moula Ali in Secunderabad collapsed last night that fell on the adjoining huts in which daily workers had been living for 10 years.

Six people died and two are in the hospital on oxygen fighting for life . Hospital authorities are trying to save them. Rescue team is trying clear the debris with the help of a proclain.

Due to the continuous downpour for the last ten days, the old wall collapsed on the huts at about 12.30 under which they died instantly.

All of the victims belonged to Palamur who had been earning by doing physical labor. The dead are recognised as Venkataiah, his wife, Mahadev, his wife and Siva. A boy Chintu came out safe and another girl Lily was rescued by the rescue team.

The male members of the physical labor were working in loading and unloading of cement and their wives worked in the houses near that place.

A construction activity is going on near the place of the wall which might have, as per the locals, weakened the old wall in addition to the rains. 

628 buildings are already identified in the twin cities by the GHMC are in need of repair as they are older than 50 years.  The Compound wall collapsed last night, as per the locals, was already taken to the notice of GHMC.
