Panchayat elections started today as announced earlier for 5945 Panchayats in the State.

Keeping the past experience in the two phases of elections in to account, the Election Commission and Administration has taken adequate security measures and other precautions.

But at some places other arrangements like Agents’ forms counting forms are found inadequate and the agents were asked to get photocopies of the forms.

Because of the heavy rains in Kamareddy and Yellareddy in Nizamabad district and Husnabad, Huzurabad and Mahadevapuram in Karimnagar district, elections may be postponed for those panchayats. Down pour in Medak and Warangal districts are making difficulties to the voters to reach polling stations.
