While discussions on bifurcation rage on, CM Kiran Kumar Reddy is under considerable pressure to take a stand and float a new party for the Samaikhyandhra cause. Named Samaikhya Indira Congress party, the initiative is intended to send shivers of uncertainty towards Congress Party's confidence over splitting Andhra Pradesh.
Kiran Kumar has turned into the light at the end of the tunnel for several Seemandhra MLAs, who find themselves at crossroads if the state is broken into two. The CM had always supported a United Andhra and vehemently argued against a bifurcation with the high command and the Antony Committe.
Meeting over the concerns of Andhra's fate in the event of a bifurcation, Kiran Kumar had apparently hinted at continuing his support for the Samaikhyandhra cause. He would keep advocating the perils of a split as long as the Congress does not take the wrong decisions. However, in case there is injustice served, Kiran Kumar would reportedly give up his post and actively oppose the formation of Telangana.
The CM's display of confidence at the Telugu Language Day function is being misread by many as a hint that Congress may backtrack on their earlier decision.
