Following the rejection of his resignation from the Membership of the Parliament Viajyawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal submitted his resignation again to the Secretary General of the Parliament.
Rajagopal reiterated that he is not under any pressure to resign.
Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar rejected 13 resignations of MPs which as per the Secretary General of the Parliament Balasekhar was in accordance with the Article 101 (3) of the Constitution and Rule No.240 of the guidelines on the conduct of the Lok Sabha.
As per the provision in article 101 (3), the resignations from MPs should be in the prescribed format and the Speaker should satisfy that the resignations were not submitted under pressure of any sort.
But, the CDs watched by the Speaker in which the activities of the Samaikyandhra movement are recorded show that the resignations were demanded by the activists and the circumstances were created in such a way that the MPs were compelled to resign.
As the MP submitted again and as it is the solitary resignation for the second time, the Speaker now may take it as if it is done voluntarily but not under pressure from any one or any situation. Lagadapati expressed his hope that the resignation will be accepted this time.
