Gold Hunt by ASI Costed Rs.2.78 lakh

Archeological Survey of India spent Rs.2,78,751/- on its excavations at Daundia Khera village in Unnao district in UP as per the written statement given by the Cultural Minister Chandresh Kumari Katoch submitted to Rajysabha.

The ASI team started digging at the fort of Raja Rao Ram Bux Singh in Unnao following the narration of the dream of a seer that 1000 tonnes of gold buried there.  First time it was digged in October and then it was repeated in November and finally declared it as the project was closed as nothing of importance was found in the excavations.

The Minister said that the approval for the excavation was granted by the Director General of Archeological Survey of India. She said that the ruins datable to 18th century, Geological Survey Of India carried investigations in 1960 and in later period.
