Union Human Resource Development minister Shashi Tharoor was admitted in AIIMS hospital after he complained of uneasiness and chest pain. Tharoor was initially admitted to the ICU and given appropriate treatment. AIIMS doctor VK Sharma was looking after Mr. Tharoor and said, “he had minor cardiac event last night and was hospitalised in the intensive cardiac care unit. Currently Tharoor's condition is stable and so we have shifted him to private ward.”

This came hours after his wife Sunanda Tharoor was found dead on Friday evening at Delhi's Leela Palace Hotel. Sunanda had been suffering from Lupus and stomach TB whoever reason for her death are yet to be known.
