President of India, Pranab Mukherjee will come with a book which is based on the 70s, including the crucial emergency period under late Indira Gandhi rule. The book titled "The Dramatic Decade: The Indira Years," will released on December 11 and Rupa publishers will be publishing it. The book is set in three volumes and only the first volume will be out currently.
Pranab made his debut in national politics in 1969 as a Rajya Sabha MP of the Congress and by 1973, was a minister in the Indira Gandhi's cabinet. He was a staunch loyalist of Indira which made him to grow in the Congress party. The content in the book is said to draw from Mukherjee's personal diary extracts and his conversations with "key players of the 1970s".
Pranab became the President of India on July 25th 2012 before that he graced many high profile ministries in Manmohan Singh's regime. With vast political experience, Pranab is highly respected by many irrespective of political parties. He was the Parliamentarian of both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.
