On Tuesday, Andhra Pradesh police shot dead almost 20 red sandalwood smugglers in an encounter in chittoor district of the state. 

The smugglers were very heavily armed and attacked the police, but the AP police this time gave a serious counter attack.

In the Seshachalam forest of Chittoor, the encounter is still on and few police were left with few injuries as there was heacy firing feom the other side too.     

Not only by the Chottoor forest police, even the local police joined hands with the officials and supporting this operation.
