A day after Salman Khan got five year jail term for overrunning people sleeping on the footpath and killing one -- and after Bollywood came out in union to support him, often giving senseless arguments in Salman's defense -- Rishi kapoor on Thursday thrashed singer Abhijeet on Twitter.

On Wednesday, soon after the Salman Khan verdict was announced, Abhijeet, in a series of tasteless tweets, blamed people sleeping on footpath for their death. The worst of the lot, 'Kutta road pe soyega kutte ki maut marega' (If you sleep like a dog, you will die a dog's death), has been deleted.

“Roads are meant for cars and dogs not for people sleeping on them.. @BeingSalmanKhan is not at fault at all..@arbaazSkhan @sonakshisinha”, he tweeted.

For this, Rishi Kapoor reacted very seriously.

“Ashamed of Abhijit the singer and some Ejaz Khan. Bunch of idiots and non starters. How does Times Now get these losers on Prime Time”, he tweeted.

‘Sorry to say but only wannabe Chamchas of Salman siding him with ridiculous support.Hum bhi well wishers hain  but give logical explanations’, he added.

The tweets triggered a massive backlash and protesters assembled outside his home on Thursday, shouting slogans and tearing his posters.

But Abhijit Bhattacharhya should realize that the celebrity status, which he is enjoying today is public’s gift and every penny he is spending and every grain he is eating is of public.

Also, if footpaths are not meant for people to sleep, they are also not meant for people to drive car. So Abhijit, god has given ways to unburden the shit, don’t use the mouth for it.

As Rishi Kapoor told, don’t become chamchas of Salman Khan.
