Netaji files: Subhas Chandrabose did not die in 1945

The 64 Netaji files, which are officially released yesterday and mentioned as historic’ by the West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, exposed not only the minute scrutiny that Netaji and his family were subjected to by Indian intelligence agencies, but also raised several doubts on Subhas Chandra Bose death in several occasions.

A few of the evidences are given here, to prove the fact. Firstly, here is a letter Dr Lilly Abegg wrote to Sarat Chandra Bose, Netaji’s brother on December 9, 1949. The letter read: “I heard in 1946 from Japanese sources that your brother is still living.”

On the other side, a Swiss journalist, named Abegg, who was a correspondent in China and Japan, wrote a letter, which read: “On account of the good relation between Indian and my country, it is not possible to tell everything in  a too open and undiplomatic manner. Further, as I have not been in India, it is impossible for me to take sides with one side only and against the government.”

Netaji files proved Subhas Chandra Bose was in China

Further, in 1949, November 1st, Abegg once again wrote to Sarat Chandra Bose, to ask about the information about Netaji’s existence, if any, stating that, a media channel has reported Netaji was identified in Peking, China.

Netaji files: Netaji Research Bureau formed to survey about Netaji

Not stopping there, on August 20, 1965, Netaji Research Bureau was formed by the state intelligence officers, to conduct a weekly survey on Netaji. The officers intercepted the communication between Netaji’s nephew Sisir Kumar Bose and the Japanese author of the book, ‘Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose: His great struggle and martyrdom’, Tatsuo Hayashida.

In the book, Sisir Kumar Bose writes that Dr Satya Narayan Sinha, an MP and former Indian Foreign Service officer had said that, the erstwhile Formosa government, had documents that created doubts regarding Netaji’s death.

Netaji files: No proofs for air crash

“In November, last year, Dr Sinha visited Formosa and made several enquiries about the air crash. In the inquiry, when Chinese nationals are asked about the Netaji, all those statements of them differed from what Japanese friends gave in Netaji Enquiry Committee. Dr Sinha said that, the Formosa government have documents, proving that the air crash was occurred in October 1944, but the thing is, no such air crash took place in August 1945. Formosa government is ready to disclose all the documents, if Indian government needs,” the letter read.
