Adithi, a six year old girl, who was missing since week, was found dead at Bhogapuram beach in Vizianagaram district, after she was slipped into the drain. Her funeral was held yesterday amidst of thousands of tearful eyes. It seems, the government is maintaining a strategic silence on the issue.
Adithi’s death issue is one pathetic situation, which not only her family members, but even the normal public are unable to digest.
Adithi, who was coming from her tuition center a week back, slipped into the drain and was swept away in the flash floods, following heavy downpour. Since then, the family members are in search of their daughter and it was after a week, Adithi’s father, C Srinivas identified his daughter, by her dress colour and earrings at Bhogapuram beach.
Srinivas who could not take this, had collapsed senseless on the spot and was later consoled by the family members. Adithi’s body was handed over to the family members yesterday, after conducting the post mortem at the King George Hospital.
Adithi’s mother was continuously crying and her husband is trying to console and falling into tears again. The visitors and other neighbors, who is watching the incident at Adithi’s residence, opined that, no parents should face this type of situation.
As the issue went viral because of the media’s continuous attention on Adithi’s missing mystery, a large number of crowd, gathered at Adithi’s house and payed homage to the little girl, with tearful eyes and accompanied the family members, till the burial ground at Seethammadhara.
Grand parents unaware of Adithi’s death
Keeping in mind the health condition of maternal grandparents of Adithi, the death news is still kept as a secret and her parental grandmother Sita came across the news and was shifted to the local corporate hospital, after she suffered from heart enlargement problem
Author’s view
Even though the issue went so viral, it is to be observed that, no government official attended the funeral of Adithi. Who is to be actually blamed for this? In spite of the countless number of incidents happening regularly and kids are facing these types of troubles, how can the government be silent? How can the drains be open, where the children and public are walking?
Why did not the government take care of such basic thing? When the government is not able to concern about such a small issue, how the hell, it is going to construct a capital city for the state? Who is going to answer these questions?
Government’s strategical silence on Adithi’s death
The strategy behind the leaders silence is, Adithi issue is viral now. But after a month, that viral gets obsolescence, as we have more issues to take care of and so the public will forget about it. Should we be proud of having such intelligent leaders? Hope such intelligence is used on the public welfare programmes and thus completely stop the issues like these.
