Madhya Pradesh (MP) animal husbandry minister Kusum Mehdele kicked a kid in public, after he sat on his knees, asking for Rs. 1.  

Yesterday afternoon, MP Minister Mehdele was in Panna district, Madhya Pradesh and was sweeping a road near a bus stand, as a part of a cleanliness drive. All the senior officials, including collector, SP and local BJP leaders were present at the spot.

Meanwhile, a teen boy requested her to give a rupee. The frustrated minister then kicked him on his head, followed by the minister’s security personnel, who dragged the boy from the place and threw away. The minister refused to talk to the media, after she was confronted with the video footage.

MP minister in a series of controversies

Getting involved in the controversies, is not new to Mehdele. In the past, she was once criticized for seeking the law, to allow people to domesticate or keep big cats like lions and tigers as pets for conservation.

In a proposal sent in March, Mehdele had cited a few of the legal provisions in African and South-East Asian countries like Thailand, which helped to create a jump in the population of big cats.

Along with the above, in August, while Mehdele was inspecting an animal farm in Tikamgarh, she was bitten by the mosquitos. It was then, she reportedly said that, she would be finishing the two government officials in two days.    

Adding to this, when Mehdele could not sleep in the PWD circuit house, due to the defunctioning of the air conditioners, she immediately busted on the two engineers and suspended them. She had complained of mosquito bites. She served a show-cause notice  to the Discom general manager. The entire scene was captured on cameras of the accompanying journalists.

Being a public representative and that too holding a responsible position, showing the  rudeness with the public, would show a severe impact on any political leader’s career. So, it should be seen, how far that impact would be on Mehdele’s career.
