IAF airman fell in ISI honey trap, through FB

Three years ago, an Indian Air Force employee, named Ranjith KK, got a facebook request from a pretty woman based in the United Kingdom.

The overexcited man, who was unaware that, he was going to fall in ISI honey trap, immediately accepted the request and started chatting to her all the night, that too the dirty talk. In this way, Ranjith kept no other work, other than chatting to the unknown friend, all the day. He used to wait for the woman named McNaught Damini, to come online, and involve in the dirty talk.

On McNaught's Facebook profile, it was posted that, she is a resident of Beeston, Leeds, England and working as an executive for an investigative magazine there.

Being a lead aircraft man (LAC), Ranjith’s job was to help the technical crew, look after the aircraft.

The woman’s strong British accent made Ranjith, completely fell in the trap of her and their relation, soon moved from the text chats to audio and also photo exchanges on Whatsapp.

When the days are passing in such romantic way, one fine day, McNaught seductively asked the Kerala man for some information on the IAF, ostensibly for the news magazine she worked for.

McNaught had even interviewed Ranjith earlier regarding the magazine and moreover, the lady even offered to pay him, for the information, he passes. It was then, Ranjith found no fault in sharing the information and so did it.

In this process, one day, McNaught asked him details of TAC-DE (Tactical and Combat Deployment Establishment) in Gwalior. But Ranjith, who is aware of the significance of the unit, refused to share the information.

It was then, the other shade of Woman came out. She blackmailed to inform his higher officials about the information, he shared earlier, showing the call recordings.

The threatened Ranjith, who then recognized that he was the latest victim of an ISI honey trap, with no option left, started sharing all the information about IAF.

Whenever he moved stations for the training like Belgaum to Chennai and lately to Delhi, the ISI followed him, through Facebook, Whatsapp and also Skype.

Thrice in Belgaum, six times in Chennai and also in Delhi, Ranjith leaked sensitive data on air force exercises, movement of aircraft and deployment of various flying units, his major lapse being supplying the position and other details of Mirage and fighter jets at TAC-DE.

Military Intelligence (MI) and Delhi Police caught up Ranjith and he was arrested on Monday, a few hours after getting dismissed from IAF.

On the other hand, Crime branch, joint commissioner of police, Ravindra Yadav revealed that, the man had been under electronic surveillance for some months after MI sleuths had tracked communications between him and his handler.

Ranjith was even interrogated by a police team, led by ACP KPS Malhotra, in Bathinda, Punjab.

The officials arrested Ranjith after bringing him to Delhi, completely wrecking his planned tryst on New Year's Eve with his lady love at a luxury hotel in New Delhi.
