After the death of the HCU student, Rohith Vemula, the university was on heat, with the several protests for over 10 days. Finally the students got compromised and the classes began today.
Andhrawishesh earlier reported that, HCU Interim Vice Chancellor, Prof. Vipin Srivatsav posted on the university website, saying that, the officials already declared Rs. 8 lakhs to Rohith’s family.
Upon demanding the job to the kin of Rohith, V-C said that it is not in his hands and pleaded the students to cooperate and resume the classes, as the students academic year is going to have an effect by not conducting the classes.
After the internal discussions with the students were successful, V-C spoke to the media yesterday and announced that, classes will go on from today.
He even clarified that he was not responsible for the death of Senthil Kumar a few years back as has been alleged by some people. “A CBI inquiry was also conducted in that case and no one was found responsible for it,” he said.
An inquiry into HCU student, Rohith Vemula’s suicide will be commenced today, by Allahabad High Court retired judge, Justice Ashok Kumar.
As per the recommendations of the human resource development (HRD) ministry’s fact-finding committee, a one-man judicial inquiry has been ordered that pointed to “a complete systemic failure” and blamed university authorities for handling the issue “insensitively”.
The judicial probe report would be submitted within three months, according to the ministry notification.
