Yes, you read it true, it is Lord Hanuman, the devotee of Lord Ram, who is summoned. It seems, cases on gods have become a trend and here is another chapter in that trend.
In connection with a road-side temple in which Hanuman is the deity, a lower court in Bihar issued summons against the monkey god, asking to appear before the court of law.
The case was filed against Hanuman, after the Public Works Department filed a complaint of encroachment. Reportedly, the court’s summons was pasted on the idol of Hanuman in the said temple which is situated in Dehri-on-Sone in Rohtas district.
Complaining that, ‘Panchmukhi’ Hanuman temple is obstructing vehicle traffic, the department in its complaint requested the court’s intervention to remove it.
Upon knowing that lord Hanuman was summoned, Bajrang Dal activists and local Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers have opposed it, demanding to withdraw the notice.
Recently, Bajrang Dal workers forced the authorities to cancel an encroachment notice, issued by a district official against ‘Bajrang Bali,’ the deity in a roadside temple constructed in Lohia Nagar area in Begusarai district.
The issues like these are not new to Bihar. In fact, even on February 1st, complaints against Lord Ram and his brother Laxman were registered, after accepting them from a lawyer. But the magistrate had rejected the case, saying it was ‘not maintainable’ and ‘beyond logic and facts’.
The petitioner had sought registration of a case against lord Ram and his brother Laxman for banishing Sita into exile “without proper justification”.
