After the horrifying twin bombing attacks in Brussels airport yesterday, which took away several lives, the airport remains closed today too.
“The airport will remain closed through Wednesday,” the airport's chief executive Arnaud Feist said, on Zaventem airport's official twitter feed.
Feist further added, “It's too soon to evaluate the damage in the terminal. We don't yet have access since the investigators are still busy with their probe.”
"Today we'll see the state of the terminal and whether we can quickly fix what was damaged and restart some of the facilities," he said.
About 20000 people work at the airport daily under the normal circumstances, he said.
After the deadly Paris attacks last year, the security measures have been increased at the airports to control the terrorism.
"But we don't systematically control people entering the airport and we don't check their luggage either," Feist said.
As Brussels airport will be closed today, all the flights were being diverted to other Belgian airports and also to neighboring countries in some cases.
Meanwhile, from the surveillance footage, it was found out that, a man in light colored clothes was spotted wearing a hat, and pushing a baggage cart through the Brussels Airport.
This is now being considered as the key evidence after two explosions at the airport and another at a busy metro station in the Belgian capital Tuesday killed at least 30 people and wounded 230 others.
ISIS claimed responsibility for the attacks, but authorities are yet to confirm it.
Belgian authorities say the man in white is one of three suspects tied to the airport attack.
The other two died in the explosions, Belgian Interior Minister Jan Jambon said. But through the investigation, it was found that, the man in white planted a bomb at the airport and left the place.
“The third man left a bomb in the airport, but it didn't explode. ... And we are now looking for this guy,” Jambon said.
A photograph released by investigators shows the three suspects side-by-side.
Federal Prosecutor Frederic Van Leeuw said the two men wearing black in the photograph were likely the suicide attackers.
Video shows the men exiting a taxi and moving through the airport, according to two U.S. officials. The man dressed in white left the airport after accompanying the other two, they said -- a move the officials said appeared to be planned.
Brussels attacks: Taxi driver supports the investigation
On the other side, a taxi driver, who allegedly dropped the three suspects at the airport. After seeing the CCTV footage, the driver contacted the investigators and gave them the address, where he picked the men up.
That information prompted authorities to raid the residence after the attacks, the officials said.
Several other witnesses said that, they had seen police special forces, combing through the northeast Brussels neighborhood of Schaerbeek, cordoning off a train station there.
A nail bomb, chemical products and an ISIS flag are found at the place, hinted by the driver, Belgium's federal prosecutor said in a statement.
