Pakistan Boat Seized By BSF From Ravi River In Punjab

A Pakistani boat has been seized by the Border Security Force (BSF) troops from Ravi river In Punjab’s Amritsar district on Tuesday. The incident happened two days after the Coast Guard apprehended a Pakistani boat off the Gujarat Coast.

The boat was seized from Tota post area in the district. KK Sharma, DG BSF, said that no suspicious item found in the boat and prima facie the baot drifted to the Indian side.

RS Kataria, BSF’s Punjab Frontier DIG said, “The Pakistani boat had got washed away to this side in Ravi river along the International Border (IB).”

By stating that it was an empty boat and washed away along with its anchor, Kataria said, “Yesterday, there was strong flow in the river. The boat could have probably got washed away due to rising water level in the river.”

Earlier, a Pakistani boat with 9 crew members was apprehended off the Gujarat coast by the Indian Coast Guard.
