BJP National President Amit Shah Plans To Replicate UP Success Mantra In Telangana
April 06, 2017 10:04
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President, Amit Shah has unveiled his plans to replicate success mantra of Uttar Pradesh in Telangana State (TS).
A multi-pronged caste-card, booth - level strategy, development mantra will be put into operation in TS, in order to win both the Assembly (119 seats), and Lok Sabha (17 seats), respectively in 2019, says BJP sources.
The BJP President’s idea, the “Panna Pramukh” system, that proved to be successful in UP, will be the key strategy in TS too.
As per the “Panna Pramukh” strategy, a representative of the booth committee, is given a page (panna) of voter’s list. This list will have about 80 votes, with two sides of one sheet, to focus and seek their support to vote for the BJP.
A president, two vice-presidents, two secretaries, one general secretary and four members, will comprise the booth committee.
Every polling booth will have about 800-1,200 voters. There are around 32,000 polling booths in the State and BJP plans to focus on at least 20,000.
Amit Shah even obtained caste details in all Assembly and Lok Sabha constituencies in the TS, which included all the Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Backward Classes (BC) Reddys, Muslims, Christians, Jains, Sikhs and other minorities. BCs including Gouds, Yadavs, Munnurukapu, Brahmins, Veerashaiva Lingayats, Kurmas, Mudiraj and others, say sources.
However, the ticket will be based on the dominant caste.
At least ten Union ministers and national leaders, besides Amit Shah, have been roped in to associate with party leaders and workers in various districts.
A senior BJP leader said, “Unlike UP, though casteism, is not that strong in the TS State, the BJP plans to seek support from all the castes, and give tickets in respective constituencies, based on dominant caste.”
As part of its nationwide strategy, Amit Shah will be reaching Hyderabad, tomorrow, to hold meetings with over 14,000 booth-level workers in Telangana.
