AAP Conducts Live Demo Of How EVMs Could Be Hacked In Delhi Assembly

A live demonstration was conducted today by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the Delhi Assembly’s special session, on how the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) could be hacked to favor a chosen party.

The AAP MLA, Saurabh Bharadwaj alleged that there is a secret code that could make any party win. He further claimed that the said code is entered around 10 am to ensure the favored candidate wins. The code differs with every constituency, said Bharadwaj.

Saurabh Bharadwaj on EVM Tampering

Bharadwaj conducting the demonstration, clarified that the machine being used is a dummy. The AAP MLA first explained the machinery and then to establish the functionality of the machine, gave two votes to each party. After the mock trial, Bharadwaj entered a “code” (Bharatiya Janata Party’s in the drill) to show that the votes shown in the final tally were more than the ones polled originally.

It takes only 90 seconds, to rig the EVM by changing the motherboard, claimed Bharadwaj.

Dispersing the demo with a speech, Bharadwaj said, “To let the people of India rule, not the British nor the rich men, people sacrificed a lot for freedom of our nation. There will be no measure of democracy left, if elections continue to be done through these EVMs. Only a single party will rule then.”

He also challenged any scientist to explain it saying, “I am a computer science graduate, have worked with several companies in past 10 years. I ask any scientist to explain this to me. Welcome both Harvard and hard work”.

The special session earlier, had started in chaos after BJP MLAs Vijender Gupta and Manjinder Singh Sirsa created an uproar. Gupta was evicted from the Assembly for the day, after a back and forth between Speaker Ram Niwas Goel. The AAP MLA, starting the special session, had opened with a rebuke against the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) targeting the Modi government and the Election Commission.

In Tughlakabad, 4 EVMs were tampered and their seals broken overnight. The CCTV footage of the EVMs was not available after 12:30 am, alleged Alka. She further questioned  that, “When generation three EVMs remain locked up, why generation one EVMs are being used?

The Election Commission will have to reply now. said Lamba. She further claimed that the old EVMs were used for the “Municipal Corporation of Delhi” (MCD) polls, in which the BJP won in a landslide. In Chhattarpur in South Delhi, where AAP candidate Pinky Tyagi lost to her BJP rival Anita Tanwar by 2 votes, the EVMs used had counted several thousand additional votes.

After suspended  MLA Kapil Mishra's allegations plunged the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) into further uproar, the Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal attacked the former saying that he would disclose a big conspiracy during the Delhi Assembly special session on Tuesday. Kejriwal tweeted :

“A very big conspiracy will be disclosed before Saurabh Bhardwaj in the Delhi Assembly today. Please do listen to it. Truth will win,” he tweeted.

Amid turmoil in his party, Arvind Kejriwal had tweeted last night, “Truth will triumph. Its beginning will be made during the special session of the Delhi Assembly tomorrow.”

The Delhi CM’s tweets comes in the wake as Mishra, alleged that a Rs 50 crore deal had been arranged for the Chief Minister’s brother-in-law. Mishra was sacked by Kejriwal from his Cabinet last Saturday, who later intensified his attack on the AAP supremo. Yesterday, Mishra accused Kejriwal of receiving Rs 2 crore from his cabinet colleague Satyendra Jain. The documents to the Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) against the Chief Minister in connection with the alleged water tanker scam, were also submitted by Mishra.

Mishra, after lodging a complaint with the CBI, said, “I will sit on hunger strike if details of foreign trips by five AAP leaders are not released”. The BJP youth workers, early morning today had protested against Kejriwal and police had to utilize to water cannons to restrain them.

Ankit Lal, who heads the AAP’s IT cell, supporting his party leader tweeted, “No. @ArvindKejriwal is not resigning. But it's something bigger than this...Watch out...today, 2pm, Delhi assembly.”

Meanwhile, Mishra also dared Kejriwal to fight elections against him from any seat of his choice. Mishra wrote, in an open letter on social networking site, Facebook, stating that, “I am going to take up the biggest fight of my life against Kejriwal from whom I have learnt all these things. Before that, I seek your blessings for victory.”
