Ram Nath Kovind: 14th President Of India:- The election for the President of India took place on July 17th across the country and NDA supported Ram Nath Kovind while the opposition UPA supported Meira Kumar. The counting took place today and Ram Nath Kovind has been elected as the successor for Pranab Mukherjee as the 14th President of the country. He managed to get 65.65% of the votes while Meira Kumar got just 34.35% of votes. Ram Nath Kovind got 7,02,644 votes in total while Meira got 3,67,314 votes. The voting percentage for the election has been 99.49%.
BJP and its allies have been completely successful in convincing their leaders to vote for Ram Nath Kovind. The opposition parties could not manage to stand with the minimum votes. Around 21 votes have been called invalid. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP Chief Amit Shah congratulated Ram Nath Kovind for the victory.
