1984 Anti-Sikh Riots: Life Sentence For Sajjan Kumar:- Congress leader Sajjan Kumar received a shock in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots case. The Delhi High Court awarded life sentence for Sajjan Kumar today. The court reminded the incident to 1947 incident during partition. The court said Sajjan Kumar should be convicted after the lower court acquitted Kumar.

The court felt that Sajjan Kumar is guilty of delivering speeches that triggered violence against the Sikhs and this led to disrupt the communal harmony. The Delhi High Court asked Sajjan Kumar to surrender before December 31st and asked him not to leave the city before this. The case is related to the murder of five members from a Sikh family (Kehar Singh, Gurpreet Singh, Raghuvender Singh, Narender Pal Singh and Kuldeep Singh). The incident took place on November 1st 1984 in Raj Nagar, New Delhi after the assassination of Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
