Cash for job scam: 30Cr property sold for 10L:- In Tamil Nadu, the enforcement directorate has conducted raids related to a cash-for-job scam involving the Tamil Nadu state corporation. V Senthil Raju was the prime accused, who is the transport minister for the state of Tamil Nadu, that is in between 2011-15.
Shocking information came out in the ED investigation that a land of 2.49 acres located in Salem bypass road was substantially sold for Rs 10L to P Lakshmi (mother-in-law of Senthil’s brother RV Ashok Balaji) from Anuradha Ramesh. The true land value was said to be Rs 30Cr and sold for only Rs 10L.
However, Lakshmi was unable to provide a source of income to buy the land for Rs 10L and claimed that she sold gold to acquire the land. Later she gifted the land to Ashok Balaji ( her son-in-law, that is to her daughter Nirmala). The land is currently seized by the officials.
Senthil Kumar was arrested on June 14th, he was allegedly involved in a money laundering case. He was also facing allegations for lieu of jobs. Where substantially the eligible candidates are missing the opportunity of getting a job.
Ashok Balaji, Nirmala and Lakshmi have been summoned by the Enforcement Directorate asking them to attend the investigation.
