AP prohibited lands to be regularized:- A prolonged wish of nearly 5,000 families belonging to the Municipal Corporation of Tirupati (MCT) has been fulfilled by the district collector.
On Saturday, Tirupati district collector K Venkataramana Reddy ended a 60-year-old problem by issuing orders to regularize the lands (house Sites) spread over 140 acres belonging to the 5000 families under MCT, which were categorized as Poramboku lands as Vanka or Vaagu or Kunta and were placed under prohibited list 22 (A).
This prohibition lists belongs to nearly 5000 properties in Thambuvanigunta, Korlamgunta, Navodaya Colony, Erukala Colony, Chandrasekhar Colony, Maruthi Nagar, Poolavanigunta, Auto Nagar, Ambedkar Colony, Gollavanigunta, Bomma Gunta, Suraiah Katta, LB Nagar, SN Puram, Srikrishna Nagar, Gayatri Nagar, Sundaraiah Nagar, Sinagalagunta, Reddigunta and Tataiah Gunta areas, which were denied ownership of the lands.
In 2019 Tirupati YSRCP Bhumana Karunakar Reddy assured the people in those regions to solve their problem, that is by removing those lands from the poramboku category. Registrations were not allowed in this region and they were also forced to run from pillar to post. Owners of the lands requested officials many times, that is nearly from six decades to remove their lands from the prohibited category.
Finally, their request has been heard.
Karunakar Reddy has filed a representation to the Chief Commissioner of Land Administration (CCLA) stating that several houses in that region belong to the middle class and poor, who are mostly affected by the prohibition. After the survey, they took a decision to remove the lands from the Prohibited list 22 (A).
