Kavitha skips CBI Investigation, pens Letter:- K Kavitha, the daughter of former Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and BRS legislator, has written a letter to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) regarding the summons she received in relation to the alleged Delhi liquor policy scam. In the letter, she expressed her confusion over the use of Section 41A of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) in the summons, stating that there was no logical explanation provided. Kavitha also mentioned her busy schedule and responsibilities towards the people of her state, and stated that she would not be able to appear before the CBI on February 26. She requested the withdrawal of the summons, pointing out that the CBI should have been aware of a prior notice issued under Section 160. Considering her commitments and the ongoing parliamentary elections in her state, Kavitha asked the CBI to temporarily suspend the notice.
Kavitha has expressed her willingness to cooperate with the probe agency through virtual means if they require her response or information. In a letter, she mentioned her busy schedule of one-on-one meetings with the people of her state over the next six weeks. Due to these engagements, she states that it would be practically impossible for her to appear in person on the specified date. However, she assured that she would be available to answer any queries or provide information through virtual modes if needed. Kavitha also questioned the use of Section 41A CrPC by the CBI, especially when the matter is already being considered by the Supreme Court. In the ongoing investigation, a statement was made by the Learned ASG stating that I would not be called for questioning until the hearing. This statement applies to both the present case and the PMLA case, which are connected.
