The water scarcity in Hyderabad has reached to an alarming level. The sources have said that in case the city doesn’t witnesses rainfall by the mid of June, the situation would be very tough. The water board in-charge director, Sundar Ram Reddy has said that the officials would require to install motors and pump water from dead storage levels of Osmansagar in a couple of days if there are no rains. Notably, the water levels at dead storage level at Osmansagar as well as Himayatsagar was not up to the mark. As of now, the total water available at almost all reservoirs of the city including Himayatsagar, Manjira and Akkampally is 13. 547 TMC. Last year the water was 19. 584 TMC. The officials have said that in places like Adikmet water supply is regular while in some major parts of the twin cities, water is being supplied on alternate days. People, on the other hand, are venting out their anger against the situation. Many people have already switched to water tankers and the increased water tankers plying on Hyderabad roads prove how worst the situation has turned. The government should promptly look into the issue instead of waiting for rains. (Phani)

The Hyderabad metro always tries to bring the latest happenings in the city, however today we would like to highlight the vagaries that might turn out after the Jagan-CBI issue and its effect on the city. After all, we Hyderabadis need some guffawing on a bright Monday morning. Probably millions in the city, for that matter across the state, would have had their remotes in their hands, last night. This was our only weapon to shift between news and IPL. The blistering match could not be missed as it was the crucial final and the going was interesting. Similarly latest updates of Jagan-CBI, could not be avoided either. Well the family of the young Kadapa MP went on protest in front of the Dilsukha Guest House (CBI off) and was forcefully removed by the police. The wailing mother was distressed to see what was going on and the scene touched millions of TV viewers, on Sunday. Today they have resumed the protest at their residence `lotus Pond’ in Banjara hills. Political speculators have said the issue could be advantageous for the YSR Congress Chief Jagan Mohan Reddy with the by-polls for the eighteen seats round the corner. However media-critics feel that the investors group other than Nimmagadda Prasad must have sighed relief as the radar turned on them might weaken with the arrest of Jagan. For Mr Prasad it is still a night mare as he is in the CBI custody. As for the politicians involved in the 26 controversial GOs, it should be the same case except for former excise minister Mopidevi Venkataramana, who is also in CBI custody. However the important aspect that affects the city is that the YSRC has called for a three day bandh and that should force you to alter your plans for the day. Needless to say the police have taken more than adequate measures to see the city peaceful. The only disadvantage in this case is, carry all your vehicle documents and identity proofs, in case you are asked for, enroute an important assignment. Also this time also security forces have taken extra precautions by taking many YSRC activists into control to avoid any unforeseen issues. (With Inputs from Internet- Aarkay)
