India (NAR) along with the Andhra Pradesh Realtors Association (APRA) will be organising its third annual convention on July 23 and 24 in the city. The meet, expected to be the biggest NAR convention so far, will be held at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre and will have close to 1,000 property consultants from across the globe participate in the event. Besides brokers from Bangalore, Chennai, Vijaywada, New Delhi, Pune and Mumbai, realtors from USA and Europe are also expected to attend the convention.

Speaking at a press conference in the city on Wednesday, to announce the agenda of the meet, D Sreedhar Reddy, president, APRA said, "Our objective is to showcase properties in Hyderabad through this conference and attract more investors to the city." He added, "Though the real estate market in Hyderabad recently went through a rough patch, things are looking up now. The infrastructure of the city is better than in most metros and that is what we wish to highlight through the two-day event."

The third chapter of the NAR convention (the first two were held in Pune and Chennai) will also see a number of industry experts speaking on issues and opportunities related to the realty sector. On the list are Keki Mistry, vice-chairman of HDFC, Ajit Rangnekar, dean of Indian School of Business (ISB), Lalit Kumar Jain, president, Confederation of Real Estate Developers' Association (CREDAI), Jeffrey Horn Berger, NAR-USA, among others.

Apart from panel discussions, a property show will also be organised as part of the event where about 40 developers from across the country such as Lodha group, Phoenix, Botanika, Mantri and Raheja developers, will showcase their ventures. Educational modules especially designed by APRA for realtors participating in the convention will also be conducted during the two-day meet. "The perception about the broker community is fast changing. Through this meet we wish to further educate property consultants and bring them under the NAR umbrella. This will help them compete better in both the national and well as international market," said Shailender Singh, chairman of the convention.
