Even as pro-Telangana leaders and activists stressing that they don't want anything less than Telangana state with Hyderabad as the capital, demands have been high among different associations. While some argue that Hyderabad should be made common capital of Andhra and Telangana, there's also a demand to make it a second capital of the country on the recommendations of architect of Indian Constitution, B R Amdekar.
Hyderabad Bachao-Badhao Andolana, an association, which was started in 2010, is one such organization, which strongly advocates that southern states felt that there were cornered since there's no capital down the south. Making Hyderabad a second capital would not only develop Hyderabad and surrounding areas but would benefit the entire south India, said the organization members.
Elucidating the other benefits, the association members said that even Supreme Court bench could be set up in Hyderabad, if it's made second capital of the country, wherein people needn't go to Delhi for filing cases in the apex court. Anyway, the association is all set up to hold protests across the country demanding more states besides appealing for Hyderabad as the second capital of India. While Congress has been dilly-dallying on Telangana issue-which has been there over four decades-the analysts said that it might not pay attention to the demands that popped up a few years ago.
