Financial problems and depression were the main reasons cited over the death of a 35 year old Techie in Hyderabad. The man's wife told police that Shailendra was depressed and his suicide note reportedly stated that no one is responsible for his death. This once again brings to focus the dangerous menace of stress among software employees.
According to Kukatpally Inspector Chandrakanth, the software employee wrote the suicide note before jumping to his death. Shailendra jumped from the 19th floor of a building under construction, where he had purchased a house.
He had allegedly visited the building in Kukatpally to check the flat, but succumbed on the spot from the fall. Police said that the suicide is under investigation. Though companies claim to have pyscholocial counselling for stressed employees, many like Shailendra are not able to find help. Depression among this section of the employees is a rising crisis.
